Test Drive The Arts

Tujiko Noriko and Guests

Judith Wright Centre: Wednesday 20 August 2008

The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts present Tujiko Noriko and Guests.

Tujiko Noriko

Tujiko Noriko is the undisputed queen of Japanese avant-pop. Over her many records for labels including the highly regarded Mego, Tujiko has carved away a uniquely spliced vision of divergent pop. Her songs cut a fine path through delicate melodies and devolving rhythms. At times she is consumed by washes of digital electronics, only to emerge again in the most elegant and sonically intriguing ways.

This is Tujiko's first visit to Australia in many years and she comes on the back of a swag of astounding new recordings that situate her at the very apex of contemporary avant-electropop from Japan. Simply a not to be missed evening for the already acquainted and a long overdue appointment for the yet to be initiated!

For tickets to Tujiko Noriko and Guests on Wednesday 20 August at 8pm, simply fill in the form below, agree to the Terms and Conditions, and the Judith Wright Centre will contact you.
